Hey there! My name is Maria Alejandra and I am a Colombian chocolate maker and taster. Back in 2019, my family and I decided to embark on a fun project and started growing cocoa in the Colombian eastern plains. Not only was it a fun adventure, but it also gave us an opportunity to help preserve wild animals like jaguars in the area. And in 2020, I founded Chocolates Karü as a way to showcase the amazing flavors and fruits of my country through delicious chocolates. I am excited to share my passion for chocolate making with you!

WE ARE LOCATED IN COLOMBIA

Our cacao crops are located in the beautiful Colombian Plains. We have a 20,000-hectare protected forest reserve that includes lush forests, morichales, lagoons, rivers, and savannah plains. We take protecting nature seriously, that's why hunting and fishing are not allowed in our reserve or the surrounding areas. We're proud to be part of the international Jaguar corridor and have a wide variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and snakes that call our reserve home. We're passionate about preserving the environment and it's a big part of who we are.

OUR FARMERS COME FIRST

At our company, we believe in making a positive impact on the lives of the farmers who help grow our cocoa. We strive to pay a fair and high price for the cocoa they produce. We also make sure to employ local farmers, provide them with fair wages, support for their families, and make sure they have a close and secure workplace. Our goal is to create a sustainable source of income for them, so they can build a better life for themselves and their families.
